Headstand 03 – The Royal Wedding, Sweden

Dear Victoria and Daniel.  A royal wedding for about 20 million SEK, and a total cost all included, for approximately 450 million SEK, according to economic estimates? This wedding is a capitalistic showcase, reminding me more of the story of Robin Hood and Prince John than a wedding. I am not against marriage – it can be a beautiful commitment – for some.  But what are we actually spending 450 million SEK on here, what kind of symbol are you closing down the heart of the city in three weeks for – and a symbol for whom?  The crazy total cost for this wedding is first of all not “all human beings are born equal in dignity and rights”,  it is definitely the opposite. Why not take a trip to Paris and get married secretly,  then give the money to groups in society that work against exclusiveness, makes an effort to calm down the climatic crisis, work against racism, and matters that – matter. I cannot think of any better way to make a nice statement and symbol for your marriage.  Since you already are in a position of power: with power, responsibility follows. I always liked Robin Hood better than Prince John. This is why I headstand the swedish monarchy and the royal wedding.
